Two $500 awards will be presented for art entered in this year’s Edmonds Arts Festival by the family of Pamela Mummy. One award will be in 2D and one in 3D, with choices related to Pamela’ criteria: COMET, which stands for her belief in how to look at art: Craftsmanship, Originality, Maturity of style, Evokes emotion, and Timelessness.
A $1,500 art education scholarship will be awarded to a high school or college student who exemplifies creativity, enthusiasm and passion.
The Edmonds arts community lost a vital member and an incredibly talented artist with the passing of Pamela Mummy. To honor her legacy as an artist, the Mummy family chose to further her contributions to the community by establishing an annual scholarship for art education, and an art awards program, in partnership with the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation.
This is the first year of the Mummy scholarship and art awards.The family hopes to continue the program for years to come.
