The Juried Arts Galleries deadline has been extended until APRIL 10.
The Edmonds Arts Festival and Foundation are looking for dedicated volunteers to participate throughout the year in events and activities to support their mission to give back to the community by providing education and cultural enrichment through the arts. Find out more about the wide variety of opportunities at one of two informational meetings to be held on Saturday, October 29, from 1-3 pm, and Wednesday, November 9, from 6-8 pm. The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation announced this week that the 2017 application process for scholarships is now open. The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation annually provides post-secondary education visual arts scholarships to outstanding students, age 17 or older, who currently have a permanent address within the boundaries of the Edmonds School District.
Those students who reside within the boundaries of the school district but are educated through other programs than the public schools are also welcome to apply.
The applicant must be pursuing full time post-secondary degree in the visual arts at an accredited art school, college or university in the next academic school year, and must have graduated from high school by August of the year of application.
Scholarship recipients are required to volunteer a minimum of 1 shift at the annual Edmonds Arts Festival, held every Father’s Day weekend. This provides the student an opportunity to network with professional artists, and community leaders

The public may look forward to viewing the work of these students exhibited in the Juried Art Gallery, in the gymnasium of the Frances Anderson Center building, 700 Main Street in Edmonds, during the 2017 Edmonds Arts Festival, June 16, 17 and 18.
Funding of the programs of the EAF Foundation comes from public support of the Edmonds Arts Festival and individual donations throughout the year. An endowment for the Scholarship Program was secured several years ago, assuring this support for higher education in the visual arts.

The pARTy, the Festival’s annual benefit to support the arts in Edmonds, takes place on Wednesday, June 15. Make sure to get your tickets early to this very popular community event. During the evening you will have the opportunity to preview hundreds of original art pieces – and all of it is for sale. Appetizers, desserts, and beverages provided by fine Edmonds restaurateurs will be served in the galleries and at the beautiful tented outdoor Plaza area. There will be a raffle of fine art pieces and a display of original art from Edmonds Community College art students. Live entertainment will be performed by Edmonds’ own Easy Company Band.

The Edmonds Arts Festival has selected an original oil painting by Edmonds artist Michele Usibelli for its annual commemorative poster to celebrate its 59th year. The richly colored oil painting titled “Ferry Route” places the viewer right on Main Street, walking toward the Sound. In this intriguingly lit vignette of everyday life, one can actually feel the energy of downtown Edmonds. It evokes the emotion of what it’s like to live here and enjoy the downtown on a crisp sunny spring day.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase during the Festival to enter a drawing to win this outstanding original work. Various sizes of the poster will be for sale at the Festival Store, as well as other items displaying the artwork such as t-shirts, calendars, tea towels, and refrigerator magnets.

The Edmonds Arts Festival is now accepting applications from performance groups to perform at the Amphitheater Performance Stage during the 2016 Festival, June 17-19.
