Former Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation Board member Peggy Jones recently passed away and established an EAFF scholarship fund in her name.

Peggy Jones hands out awards for the 1985 Edmonds Arts Festival.

Long-time Edmonds resident and Edmonds Arts Festival supporter Peggy Jones died November 2, 2020.

Arts Festival participants and supporters may recognize Peggy from her many years of participation in the Festival, where she shared her love of the arts through the sale of her ceramics. She was a founding member of the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, where she was active in the board’s scholarship committee, which provides funds to young artists to assist them in pursuing careers in the arts. She also served as the Foundation’s Secretary, Vice President, and President.

Before moving to Edmonds, Peggy lived a very interesting life. She shared a passion for auto racing with her husband, Franklin, and she had her own sports car so she could experience the thrill for herself. Later on, the couple moved to Arizona, where Frank and Peggy shifted their love of racing from autos to sailboats. While she lived in Arizona, Peggy took her first ceramics class, which led to her lifelong love of the arts.

When Peggy and Frank moved to Edmonds in 1968, Peggy became active in several local civic clubs, and they continued racing through the Edmonds Yacht Club, where they won many trophies through the years.

Peggy became a certified ceramics teacher while living in Edmonds, and for many years she taught ceramics classes from her shop in the basement of their home.

In lieu of flowers, Peggy and her family have asked that people donate to the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation’s Peggy Jones Scholarship Fund. You can either use the donation form on our website or mail a check to Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, P.O. Box 699, Edmonds, WA 98020.
