Field Artist Booths &
Edmonds Arts Plaza
Frequently Asked Questions
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
For our Field Artists: You may enter up to two categories. Each category is a separate application and both applications must be accepted to be displayed in your booth. This is best for artists who want to display jewelry and paintings, for example.
For our Plaza Artists: There is only one category to enter, and you’ll include any and all works for display in that one application.
Can I apply to more than one category?
Two artists can apply to be in the same booth but both artists must apply separately and be accepted in order to be a part of the Edmonds Arts Festival. Both artists can use the same Booth Photo in their application, but it does need to show both artists’ work and how it will be displayed together. There is a space in the application to write the other artist’s name. Please include their category as well.
Can I share my booth with another artist?
For our Field Artists: Everyone receives a score of 1-7 by the Jurors, and when a spot opens, I go down the list by score and make calls to artists in the same category as the person who declined.
For our Plaza Artists: The Directors of the Plaza make all decisions for the weekend based on the criteria set forth in our prospectus, along with curating the area to avoid having too many similar booths.
The artists that are on the wait list, is there a priority of who gets invited in?
Typically we decline up to a third of our applications. Most of the time, those applications have missing or poor booth photos or work that is not cohesive. Being declined is an opportunity to refine your application, and we welcome your questions so we can help you tailor a more effective application next year!
How many people are declined?
How soon will you be informing waitlisted artists of an opening?
We can not predict when an artist will drop out of the Festival, which will open a spot for a new artist to join us. Most will let us know before the cancellation date, but in 2024, four artists dropped out the day of load in. If you’re available and ready to go, you may get that call the day of. If you can’t make it, that’s ok, just let us know.
When can I purchase my booth if I’m accepted?
You can accept your invitation and purchase your booth starting at 8am on Saturday, March 13th. Please give it a few minutes to go live. You may need to refresh your browser at 8am. Corners and 10×20 booths sell quickly, so if you want one, please be sure to pay for it as soon as possible.
LOAD IN QUESTIONS
I won’t be able to make my assigned time, can I arrive late?
Artists who cannot make their assigned time can show up during the last time slot of the day, but we do close our gates at the end of the time slot and no vehicles will be allowed on the field after that time. However, you are welcome to hand truck your work onto the field at any time the evening of Thursday, June 17th. As long as you’re open and ready to receive customers at 10am when we open on Friday morning, you’re welcome to set up any time that evening that works for you. Please be mindful of other artist’s booths and do not set up outside of your assigned area.
WEEKEND-OF QUESTIONS
Is there power available on the Field?
We do not have any power on the Field for Artists and we cannot allow any generators on the Field. Having a backup battery for your devices and any lights is recommended.
LOAD OUT QUESTIONS
Can I pack up before 5pm on Sunday?
We ask all of our artists to wait until 5pm to start packing up their gear because we want this Festival to be a great experience for our patrons as well as our vendors.
