Volunteer Instructions
We have made a NEW change to our volunteer submissions - this one should be much more streamlined!
Click on the “+” sign of theopportunity that you are interested to volunteer in. Then click on the link that says “Click here to see shifts and sign up!”
Our new volunteer platform is run by Unison. After signing up for your volunteer shifts, you will get an confirmation email from them on our behalf detailing your shifts and prompting you to create an account if you wish. Creating an account is optional, but you may choose to do so for additional convenience.
In your account, you will be allowed to go in and view, switch or cancel shifts up to two days before your shift begins. If you need to make changes after that, you will need to contact us at volunteers@edmondsartsfestival.com.
If you have any questions let us know!
Volunteer Opportunities
-
Artist Booth Relief is a fun way to support our field artists and help them love our festival! Volunteers will supervise a booth when an artist needs a break. Volunteers need to bring their fully-charged cell phone. A fair amount of walking is involved during your shift. The home base for these volunteers will be the Information Booth. Volunteers are also needed on the Thursday before the Festival to assist in field setup and after the Festival closes on Sunday for teardown.
-
Assist artists and directors in booth set up and/or pack up and clean up tasks.
Please note that the need for volunteers on Thursday requires lifting heavy boxes, bending, setting up tents and moving furniture and will be strenuous.
-
Assist customers in selecting Festival-branded merchandise. Process payments including credit cards using an iPad and the Square App. Training will be provided, if needed. Location: Frances Anderson Field.
-
On Saturday, June 13, prior to the Festival, volunteers will help check in artwork. On Wednesday, June 17, and during the Festival (June 19–21), volunteers will serve as cashiers or cashier’s assistants in one of the three galleries inside the Frances Anderson Center. Cashiers will sell artwork using an iPad, and cashier’s assistants will assist purchasers and record sales in the sales book. During the final shift on Sunday, June 21, and after the Festival on Monday, June 22, volunteers will help check out unsold artwork.
-
Cut up fruit and vegetables and assemble snack/lunch boxes for the artists. Deliver the boxes to the artist booths. Help with coffee, water and lemonade refills in dispensers. Location: Hospitality Room inside the Frances Anderson Center. Check in first at the volunteer tent located on the field.
-
This volunteer opportunity is predominately a sitting position where you will be answering general questions, handing out festival brochures and helping visitors with festival maps. This volunteer will coordinate with Artist Booth Relief volunteers as well. The volunteer will receive calls from field artists, then call booth sitters to assist the artist. Location: Frances Anderson Field and Edmonds Plaza. Check in first at the Volunteer tent on the Frances Anderson Field.
-
The KIDS CREATE room is the most fun-filled, happy place to be at the Festival! You will be engaged with kids of all ages to build, experiment and play with a variety of tools and materials to express their creative voice.
Planned activity stations: building "junk bots" from blocks and collected objects; take-apart vintage machines using hand tools; drawing, watercolor painting; collage art, and making crowns out of garden treasures.
-
Assist Performing Arts Directors. Location: Main Stage on the Frances Anderson Field. Check in at the Volunteer Booth first.
-
On the Friday before the Festival, volunteers assist in hanging the artwork and title cards. During the Festival, volunteers greet visitors and help families locate artwork. After the Festival closes on Sunday, volunteers are needed to take down the artwork and pack it up for return to the school district. Student Art is located on the lower level of the Frances Anderson Center.
-
Those helping at the volunteer tent will check in the other volunteers as they arrive for their assignments. You will give out volunteer T-shirts, maps, name tags, and will direct people to their work area or accompany them to their work area. Location: Volunteer tent on the Frances Anderson Field.
