Student Art Open Class Submission
K-12 student artists are invited to submit art for consideration. Students whose work is accepted will be notified via email.
Please Note: There will not be a “School Select” category this year. All students, teachers, parents, etc. must submit student art through the “Open Class” application.

Students must be in grades K-12 and one of the following must apply:
be currently enrolled in the Edmonds School District
be currently enrolled in a private school within the District boundaries
be home-schooled or a resident within the Edmonds School District boundaries
IMPORTANT:
Elementary (grades K-6): Limit 1 piece per student.
Secondary (grades 7-12): limit 2 pieces total per student.

Art Mediums Accepted: acrylic, digital, mixed media, paper, pastel, chalk, pen & ink, pencil, photography, printmaking, tempera, watercolor, ceramic, glass, mosaic, fiber, wood, paper mache', metal.
Not Accepted: glitter, laminated works, photocopies, modeling clay, Lego/building set creations, works considered too fragile for transport/installation, glass frames, saw tooth hangers, collaborative works by two or more students, non-family friendly subject matter. Artwork not following the guidelines won’t be exhibited.

Elementary & Secondary
2-dimensional art may not exceed 16" x 20", including matting.
3-dimensional art may not exceed 12"L x 12"W x 20"H.

Two-dimensional work:
Elementary: Mount artwork on a piece of construction paper. Do NOT frame artwork (no glass!)
Middle School/High School: Mat artwork, but do not frame it. If matting is not available, mount on a piece of construction paper. No glass frames are accepted. Stretched canvases must have wire hangers, no sawtooth hangers.
Three-dimensional work:
All grades: No additional mounting is needed. -
Photograph the artwork using a phone, camera or Chromebook camera.
Save the photo/scan as a .JPG document and rename it with the STUDENT first and last name, (NOT the parent's name).
You will be asked at the end of this registration to upload the photo. (Secondary students entering two pieces- rename photos with FIRST NAME LAST NAME TITLE)
Jurors use this photo to select entries. Be sure to take a well-lit, clear, straight picture of the artwork. Artwork photo MUST be properly labeled and included with registration to be considered for entry. Please note examples of acceptable/unacceptable photos below.

Approximately 35 Top Honor Awards will be awarded by two jurors. These honors will be awarded cash prizes and acknowledged at the Festival.
One piece of artwork will be selected by the Student Art Directors to be on the Student Art Poster for 2026.

March 1 - May 1: Online registrations accepted
May 20 - 22: Notifications of juried selection and delivery instructions
June 5: Accepted artwork delivery deadline
June 19 - 21: Festival at Frances Anderson Center
