“Beach” in the Center Gallery
A Playful, Coastal Inspired Exhibition by the Sculptors Workshop at the Center Gallery at Frances Anderson Center
EDMONDS, WA — The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation invites you to dive into “Beach,” a lively, imaginative exhibition by the Sculptors Workshop, running through May 30th in the Center Gallery and Display Case at Frances Anderson Center.
This isn’t your typical day at the beach. “Beach” splashes beyond sand and surf into a world of creativity and surprise. Sculptors Workshop artists have brought the shoreline to life with charming and unexpected works—featuring harbor seals, crabs, turtles, birds, and even a fish that walks on land! You’ll discover waves in motion, a tide pool full of wonder, and playful nods to human life along the coast.
The exhibition is a joyful mix of small and large-scale pieces, including eye-catching wall installations and striking totems. While clay takes center stage, visitors will also find kiln-cast glass and driftwood woven into the collection, adding texture and variety to this beach-inspired showcase.
Make an evening of it and join them for a fun and friendly artist meet-and-greet during the Third Thursday Edmonds Art Walk on April 16 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. It’s the perfect chance to chat with the artists, hear the stories behind the work, and soak in the creative energy of the community.
Founded in 1967, Sculptors Workshop is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing together three-dimensional artists of all experience levels to learn, experiment, and share ideas. With 39 members today, the group continues a long tradition of creativity and connection, and hosts an annual sale each November at the Frances Anderson Center.
The Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation is delighted to host “Beach” and welcomes everyone to come explore, smile, and be inspired by this spirited celebration of coastal life. The exhibition will be presented in the Center Gallery, located in the Frances Anderson Center (700 Main Street, Edmonds). Open Monday–Friday from 9am–8pm and Saturday from 10am–2pm (closed Sundays), the Center Gallery is operated year-round by the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation. The gallery provides a vibrant venue for artists to share their work and for the community to experience, learn from, and be inspired by the arts.
