You are Invited...
The Edmonds Arts Festival Association invites you to apply to be part of our 53rd celebration of the arts. The Edmonds Arts Festival (EAF) has grown from a simple community art fair to one of the most prestigious in the Northwest, attracting artists from across the nation. EAF provides a unique opportunity for patrons to meet artists and purchase their work in a beautiful setting overlooking Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. In addition, EAF offers live entertainment, a juried gallery exhibition, a nationally-recognized juried student art exhibit, a hands-on children’s art activity area, wonderful food, and a wine bar and bistro.
All profits from the Edmonds Arts Festival are returned to community through the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, in the form of arts scholarships, educational grants, and public art installations. Funds provided by the Festival/Foundation also support ArtWorks, a gathering place for artists in downtown Edmonds, and the Edmonds Center for the Arts, a performing arts venue opened in 2007.

The Festival field is level and grassy, except for the baseball infield, which is covered by a heavy woven tarp. Tent stakes may be used on both surfaces of the field. The Plaza is a hard, level surface; stakes may not be used, and weights are required. No tents/canopies are allowed in the Plaza Room. Booth assignments are made at the discretion of the directors; however, every attempt is made to satisfy the artists’ requests. JURYING, JURY FEE, & IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
|
JURYING
Five jurors review submitted images and select the artists who will be invited to participate. Your four images are projected using a digital projector. Your artist statement is part of the process and is read at the request of the jurors. Scores are confidential and are not available to applicants. It is preferred that you do not show your name or a picture of yourself or customers in your booth image. The images should show a consistent body of work, but be varied enough to be interesting to the jury. Jurors include working artists, gallery owners, art educators and Festival directors.
JURY FEE
Each application must include a $15 non-refundable jury fee payable by check, or money order if applying by mail or VISA or MasterCard (AMEX and Discover are not accepted) if applying online. Make checks payable to Edmonds Arts Festival. Entries submitted by mail must be postmarked no later than January 20, 2010. Digital entry/credit card payment must be received online by midnight P.S.T., January 20, 2010. Please do not send the booth fee with this application.
IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS
Three images of your work and one image of your booth must be included with your application. Be sure to include the selling price of each submitted piece. Your entry will not be considered without a booth image.
Your images should be high quality and showcase your work. It is best to highlight just one piece of art per image rather than a group of items. A horizontal image is recommended.
Digital: Digital images are required. Digital jury images must be submitted as RGB jpegs (.jpg). It is recommended you keep your image size between 600KB and 2.5MB; any smaller, your image may not be of sufficient resolution to view your work, and any larger, you may experience problems uploading your images online. If you have images already prepared for the ZAPPlication™ digital jury system, we can accept those images as well. Save the images on a CD or DVD (no floppy discs) if applying by mail.
